Edward Price was a member of the Choirs of Clare and King’s Colleges, Cambridge, before joining the BBC Singers in 2001. His oratorio work includes the world première of Carl Rütti’s Requiem with The Bach Choir, Walton’s Belshazzar’s Feast with Twickenham Choral Society, Britten’s War Requiem with the Devon Guild of Singers and Players, Bach’s St John Passion with the Hanover Band, and Bach’s Christmas Oratorio with the Leeds Philharmonic Society. He also features on the première recording of Bantock’s Omar Khayyam with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Vernon Handley. His operatic appearances include Eldest Son in Judith Weir’s The Vanishing Bridegroom (BBC Symphony Orchestra/Brabbins), the English Clerk in Britten’s Death in Venice (Philharmonia/Hickox), Narumov in Tchaikovsky’s Pique Dame (BBC Philharmonic/Noseda) and Second Soldier in Delius’s Margot la Rouge (BBC SO/Lloyd-Jones). His recital work includes a collection of Haydn songs with musicians from the BBC Philharmonic, Schumann’s Dichterliebe, and Schubert’s Die schöne Müllerin. In 2004, he participated in Graham Johnson’s Young Songmakers programme.
