Jacques Zoon is among the world’s most celebrated flautists. After winning prizes in several prominent European
competitions he was appointed in 1988 first flute of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. He has also been first
flute of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, and was a frequent soloist with both. He joined the Boston Symphony
Orchestra as principal flute in 1997. Although he was a member of the orchestra when Gaubert’s Divertissement
grec was recorded, he has since elected to pursue his performing and teaching career in his native Europe. Jacques
Zoon is also an active chamber musician, recording artist, and flute-maker.
