Roger Montgomery studied at the University of York and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Anthony Halstead. Interested in contemporary music and authentic performance, he works with most of the leading groups in both fields as horn player and conductor. As a founder member of Jane Manning’s group, Jane’s Minstrels, he has given many first performances in Britain and abroad, and directed recordings for radio and compact disc. As a soloist he has performed widely in Europe, the United States and Australia. He is a member of the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House and a professor at Trinity College of Music.
